In President Russell M. Nelson’s April 2017 General Conference address, “Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into our Lives” (Ensign, May 2017), he related how he had “…read and underlined every verse cited about Jesus Christ, as listed under the main heading and the 57 subtitles in the Topical Guide.” More than 2200 listings are cited in its 18 pages. He also invited young adults of the Church “…to consecrate a portion of their time each week to study everything Jesus said and did as recorded in the standard works….” The rationale for his challenge: “The more we know about the Savior’s ministry and mission—the more we understand His doctrine and what He did for us—the more we know that He can provide the power that we need in our lives.”
As members prepare for General Conference in March-April 2018, President Nelson’s direction is clear: we should seek ways to learn more about the Saviour and His atoning sacrifice. Below are suggestions for scripture readings about key events during the final ten days in the ministry of Jesus, references to President Nelson’s address, and suggested activities to renew our devotion to Jesus Christ.
