The Reopening of the Montreal Quebec Temple is Announced

A free public open house for the Temple will begin on Thursday, November 5, and go through Saturday, November 14, 2015, except for Sunday, November 8. The cultural celebration will be held Saturday, November 21, and the temple will be rededicated Sunday, November 22, in three sessions. Elder Alain Allard, Area Seventy in the North America Northeast Area, has been called to serve as coordinator of the temple committee.

The temple was originally dedicated on June 4, 2000 by Gordon B. Hinckley, then president of the Church.

On June 2, 2014, the Montreal Quebec Temple closed for a complete renovation due to extensive water damage. The exterior has been reworked, giving the edifice a new appearance; the wooden-frame structures have been replaced by steel beams; and the interior rooms are being completely refurbished.

The temple serves members of the Church in Quebec and Ontario, Canada, and Vermont, U.S.A.
