The September worldwide devotional for young adults on Sunday, September 15, 2019, will be a Face to Face event with Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Elder Craig C. Christensen of the Seventy, transmitted live in 14 languages.
“I am so excited to participate in a Face to Face event with you young adults of the Church,” Elder Soares said.
“I am humbled to be able to participate in this event alongside Elder Soares, a wonderful example and great friend of mine,” Elder Christensen added. “I know that he is an inspired servant of the Lord. He loves the young adults of the Church, and he loves the Lord.”
Young adults are encouraged to submit questions on YAface2face.ChurchofJesusChrist.org or use the hashtags #YAface2face or #LDSdevo.
“We are excited to comment on your questions that come to us from all around the world, including from our native country of Brazil,” Elder Soares said. “I want you young adults of the Church to know that wherever you are, the future is a joyful one. The gospel of Jesus Christ stands as a bright ray of hope no matter what challenges you face.”
“We will not be able to answer all questions in this event,” Elder Christensen added, “yet we have confidence the answers will come, whether their own question is directly answered during the event or not.” He testified that as young adults pray for answers, they can receive spiritual impressions and discern what the Lord would have them do.
Unique to this event, Elder Soares is also asking young adults to respond to the statement, “Living the gospel brings me hope because . . .” They can do this at any time before the event by posting a video, image, or text response on social media using the hashtag #YAface2face. View Elder Soares’s invitation video, and see how young adults are responding to his question on YAface2face.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
Social media resources for publicizing the event will be available at devotionals.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
All young adults (ages 18 through 30), whether single or married, full-time missionaries, and students who have finished high school or the equivalent by the end of April 2019 are invited to participate.
Local leaders are encouraged to determine a viewing date and time that best serves the young adults in their area.
The live event will be transmitted in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Samoan, Tongan, Cebuano, Tagalog, and ASL.
Shortly after the live event, a recording of the devotional will be archived on devotionals.ChurchofJesusChrist.org, face2face.ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and on the Gospel Library app under Young Adults, which may be streamed or downloaded at any time.
